Catechists commit to share their faith with children throughout the year in small group settings, with guidance and support from our Children's Ministry director. Catechesis sessions are held Sunday mornings 10:15-11:30am, or Wednesday afternoons 4:15-5:30pm. Two adult catechists lead a group together.
Substitute Catechists share their faith with the children, stepping in to lead Catechesis at times a Catechist is unable to serve in their role.
Faith Friends are paired with children in Catechesis who may have special learning needs and benefit from the support and patience one-on-one attention can provide.
Sacrament Prep volunteers assist with retreats and events surrounding First Reconciliation & First Eucharist.
Liturgy of the Word with Children Prayer Leaders participate fully in mass with children in K-5th Grade by bringing the children to their own chapel in our Family Center. They proclaim the Liturgy of the Word and relate the Gospel to the children at their level, and lead the children through the Creed & Prayers of the Faithful.
Vacation Bible School is an annual weeklong event in June for children in PK-5th Grade to explore their faith in creative, fun-filled ways. Adult volunteers are needed to plan, execute, and staff this event, along with teen helpers.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Level 1, 3-5 year olds) is a Montessori-based faith program offered Wednesdays from 4:15-6:00pm. Volunteer to be an aide who will assist the primary Guides in this class.
Office Angels work behind the scenes to prepare materials for Children's Ministry programs throughout the year! Typically Office Angels come to Elmer Hall on select weekdays to volunteer.
Resource Room Assistants are available during our Catechesis times Sundays or Wednesdays to assist Catechists in making copies, gathering materials, and other tasks.
