St. Theresa students participate in the Private Schools Interscholastic Association’s academic competition. Rooted in virtue and academic excellence, students exercise their God-given gifts and talents through hard work and healthy competition. Our children grow in leadership by engaging with the community throughout the 59 academic contests which cover math, science, language arts, speech, social studies, and fine arts.
School-wide competitions, in these subject areas, are held for 1st through 8th grade students. Leading students advance to an Austin-area district competition in March. Top-placing students then advance to the state competition in April at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth.
We are excited to have another year of PSIA (Private Schools Interscholastic Association) at St. Theresa! PSIA is an academic competition for grades 1 through 8. Learn more about PSIA here on their website.
See the special notes where accommodations may be arranged for speaking event conflicts. Per PSIA Guidelines, all students must be in the same environment during the test. Due to this rule, online students who wish to participate in PSIA will be required to come to campus for testing. Students may participate in as many events as they desire for their grade level. One parent per student attending Districts is required to volunteer at the District Competition.
