Ethics Training (EIM)

The Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) training and application is required for all volunteers of the parish who come in contact with minors or vulnerable adults.  In reality, this means most, if not all, volunteers. The more people who take the training course, the safer we will be as a parish. It also can be useful information that helps parents protect their own children, and workshops designed for children of specific ages can help children protect themselves.

In order to volunteer at the parish, you may need to be EIM compliant. How do you become EIM compliant?

All persons serving in any ministry requiring EIM compliance must:

1. Complete the Application with VIRTUS (one time only), which permits the diocese to run a background check and creates the EIM account where workshop attendance is recorded; and
2. Attend an EIM workshop (Basic within 60 days of application submission) and renew online within every 3 years thereafter.

Additional Notes
 Plan to arrive promptly to your workshop as late arrivals may not be admitted. Children should not be brought to EIM workshops. If you are a victim of sexual abuse and have concerns regarding your attendance at a workshop, please contact Abby Turner at (512) 949-2447 to discuss an alternative workshop arrangement.
